Creating an Enterprise Measure Point

You can monitor events that take place during Task execution by setting them as Measure Point. The Measure Point can also be created at the Enterprise level.

To create an Enterprise Measure Point:

  1. On the main menu, go to Enterprise > Organization > Organization.

  2. Select the tab Settings.

  3. Select the Template DB in which you want to add the Enterprise Measure Point. Template DB is a repository of all the Published Templates.

  4. Select Edit.

    The Enterprise Settings panel appears.

  5. In the section Enterprise Level Measure Points, click Add Measure Point.

  6. In the Id field, enter an alphanumeric value. The Id helps you identify the Measure Point.

  7. From the Type dropdown list, select the type of event for which you want to add a Measure Point.

    Multiple Template and Step level Measure Points are available.

  8. Select the Persistent checkbox if you want the calculated Measure Point for the Step or Template to be stored in the Task during execution.

    This is useful when the Measure Point need to be computed again while reloading a Task.

  9. Select Active to activate the Result Set. When you select the Active checkbox, the Name field is displayed.

    During the Task execution, the values of the calculated Measure Point for the Step or Template are stored in the Result Set that you define.

    You can view the values stored in the Result Set of Tasks in the pages Tasks, Planning, and Inbox.

  10. Click Save.

You have created an Enterprise Measure Point that can be added to a Template or a Step.

Using the Enterprise Measure Point

You can use Enterprise Measure Points at the Template and/or Step level.

To add an Enterprise Measure Point to a Template or Step:

  1. On the main menu, go to Templates > Your Templates.

  2. Select a Template.

  3. Select a Step for which you want to set the Measure Point.

  4. On the property pane, hover over the EMP-ListofTabsIcon.png icon to view the list of tabs.

  5. From the list of tabs, select EMP-MeasurementPointIconSmall.png.

    The Measure Point editor is displayed.

  6. Expand the dropdown Add Measure Point to select Select an Enterprise Measure Point option.

    Note

    To add an Enterprise Measure Point at the Template level, click EMP-TemplateLevel.png and perform Step 6.

  7. Expand the dropdown to select the required Enterprise Measure Point.

    The Enterprise Measure Point is added to the Template Step.
