Setting Up A Step
Every Step in a Template can be customized to suit your needs.
Click on the Step you would like to customize.
Then click the Step Information Editor in the Property pane. This shows all the options available to customize the current Step.

Some options are common to most element types. The table below highlights the options available to container Steps and input element Steps.

Step Type
This option allows you to change the type of the selected Step. You can select a type from the dropdown list as shown below.

Warning
Step-specific data will be lost when you change the Step Type.
Step Title
Enter the title for the Step in the text box as shown below. This information will be displayed to the user.

Step Options
Step options require the user to complete a certain action before validating the Step. Checking the options sets them on the Step. The following eight options are available:

Steps.Step color
You can set one of the following colors on the icon of the selected Step.

Estimated duration
You can give an estimation of the time needed to complete the Step.

Custom Sequence
You can set a Custom Sequence for a Step. The Custom Sequence replaces the default numbering of the Step.

PTC
PTC stands for Parts, Tools and Consumables.
PTC lists the Parts, Tools and Consumables needed to execute the Step. These details are populated from the existing Data Objects.

Custom Fields
If the execution of the Step requires any of the predefined Custom Fields, it can be set here.

Step Facets
Facets help to identify a Step or provide information to the users who run the Task.

Step Object Data
You can add Data from one or several Objects to the Step.

Documentation Reference
Important
This section is visible to enterprises with the
module activated.You can select a Reference Document that will be associated to this Template. If changes are detected in the associated Reference Document during the Screening process, the Template is detected when looking for impacted Templates.
This section is filled automatically when you generate a Template from a Reference Manual.

Effectivity
Using this option, the Template Author can control the behavior of the Step based on a condition.
Action
The desired behavior is selected from the three options available in the
dropdown list.Enable: Step will be visible but no action can be performed in case the condition is not satisfied.
Display: Step will be invisible in case the condition is not satisfied.
Read Only: Inputs will be disabled, but the Step can still be validated. Scripts or default values can still pre-fill some information.
Type
The type of condition is selected from the
dropdown list. Based on the type of condition chosen, further options are displayed to set the condition.![]() |

Role conditioned
Using this option, the Template Author can control the behavior of the Step based on a role of the user.

One or more Roles can be selected using the dropdown list

Result Set
You can enable this option to store and compute the Step answers for Result Sets. During the execution of the Tasks, the user input values for the Steps are stored.

When a Task is paused or completed, a Result Set is generated with the Step Values. The values of the elements in a Result Set are dynamically updated.
Score
You can set a Score for each Step. You can also set a Score for the completion of the full Template in the

Link To Object
You can link the step to an object. This feature allows you to use a Template to add Data to an Object.

Local Variables
You can set up local variables in Steps of type Form, Table, Loop, Component and Media containers.
Note
This feature is only available on Components. It currently does not work on other containers. This is a known issue.
