A Goto Step allows the Template Author to indicate a destination or a zone where the current step is to be carried out.

Note

Location Services must be enabled to use the Goto Input Element.

To create a Goto input element:

  1. Click or drag the Goto input element from the element panel.

  2. Follow the instructions listed in Adding Steps  to set it.

    The Step with a Goto input element is created.

In addition to the options described in Setting Up a Step, you can use the Step Information Editor to customize the Goto input element.

The Goto input element is set when the GPS variable is edited.

GPS variable

In this option you can use GPS coordinates already entered in variables or create a new variable.

To create new GPS coordinates:

  1. In the dropdown list, click Add.

    The Variable tab opens.

  2. Enter the variable name, variable description and the GPS co-ordinates or an address. A sample variable is shown.

    Note

    You can choose between DD or DMS coordinates.

  3. [Optional] If you enter GPS coordinates, click Extract address as shown.

  4. [Optional] If you enter an address, click Calculate GPS as shown.

    [Optional] Enter a matching precision radius as shown above. Now, the GPS variable is added.

  5. From the Step Information Editor tab, select the GPS variable. This sets the zone in which this Step needs to be performed.

    The GPS variable is added to the Step.

  6. When the Template is run, the user is asked to confirm the current location.

If the current location does not match with the zone set in the step, the user is given the option to force the validation of the Step by forcing the location.

Important

Fieldlogs does not record the location of the user. It merely checks if the current location is inside the zone prescribed for this Step.
