Using the Voice command
For more information about the controls used in FieldLogs, read Controls.
You can use the voice command to answer steps while being unable to tap the answers.
Before a voice command, make sure you have activated the Audio. To read more about the audio, read Activating the audio.
To activate the voice command, tap on the button 
. As a result, the voice says: “Activated vocal commands.”
Note
To deactivate the vocal commands, tap on the button 
. The voice says: “Vocal commands deactivated.”
Important
Enounce your voice command loud and clear.
List of vocal commands:
Turn off the voice control | Deactivate the voice recognition. |
Show the list of commands | Display the available list of commands. |
Tell the available commands | List aloud the available commands. |
Check the inbox section | Go to the Inbox section. |
Choose a new template | Go to the Template section. |
Selection of a new job | Go to the Jobs section. |
Change to ad-hoc section | Goes to the Ad-hoc section. For more information read Creating an ad-hoc task. |
Stop the current job | Opens the pop-up to stop a job. |
Display the map view | Activate the Map View. The Map View is only available on smartphones. |
Present the table view | Activate the Table Mode. |
Open the step by step view | Activate the Doco Mode. |
Go to the next step | Go to the step next to the one you are on. |
Go back to the previous step | Go to the step before the one you are on. |
Return to the beginning | Go to the first validated step. |
Go directly to the end | Go to the first unvalidated step. |
Read the current step | Read the instructions of the step. |
Wait read slowly | Read the instruction slower. |
Hurry read faster | Read the instruction faster. |
Read all possible choices | List the possible choices for a step that is Multi-check or Multi-choice or Data Selector. |
Read my input answer | Read the answer if the step was validated. |
Start the voice input | Open the free speech for a step that is Free text or Numeric. |
The step is checked | Check the step and validate the step. |
Uncheck the step | Uncheck the step and validate the step. |
Yes answer positive | Answer a Yes/No/NA question with Yes and validate the step. |
No answer negative | Answer a Yes/No/NA question with No and validate the step. |
The answer is non applicable | Answer a Yes/No/NA question with NA and validate the step. |
Input the current time | Add the current time and date to the step and validate the step. |
Clear temporary answer | Clear the temporary answers |
Cancel the speech | Cancel the answer you dictated and close the free speech. |
The answer is finished | Validate the step with the answer you dictated. |
Important
The voice recognition time is managed differently in Android and iOS:
On Android, the voice recognition deactivates after a few seconds without talking;
On iOS, the voice recognition continues until you say “Cancel the speech”.
Note
If a step cannot be validated, the errors will be enounced.
