Using Component Configuration

If a Template has a Component step with Configurations, you can assign those Configurations to the parent Template Configurations.

When you assign Component Configurations to the parent Template, these rules apply:

  • The Configurations of the parent Template cannot be applied to the Component Step or its sub-Steps directly.

  • If the Component Template has Configurations, you can assign them to a Parent Configuration. Then, the Component shows up as part of that Parent Configuration.

In the example below, the Component Template Painting has the Configuration Paint Setup. This Configuration is assigned to the parent Configuration Rust Check. So, the Steps that are part of the Paint Setup Configuration also appear in the Rust Check Configuration.

Let us consider a parent Template Wing Maintenance that contains a Component Template Painting as its Step 2 as shown below.

You can generate a Custom Sequence for the Component Step if required. This Custom Sequence is also reflected in the Configuration Matrix.

The Component Template Painting has a Configuration Paint Setup as shown.

The parent Template Wing Maintenance has two Configurations: Rust Check and Cleaning Check. The Component Step has the Comp_Inline.png icon in the Configuration matrix. All the Component sub-Steps are listed in the matrix.

Note that the Component Step Painting cannot be directly assigned to either Configuration.

You can assign the Component Configuration Paint Setup to one or more Parent Configurations.

To assign a Component Configuration to a Parent Configuration:

  1. Navigate to Configurations on the parent Template.

    AssignConfig1.png
  2. Click Assign Configurations next to the required Component.

The Assign FC Combinations panel is displayed. All the active parent Configurations are listed.

  3. Select the Component Configuration to assign to the Parent Configuration. In this example, the Component Configuration Paint Setup is assigned to the parent Configuration, Rust Check.

The Component Steps associated with Paint Setup are now assigned to Rust Check.

When Steps are filtered by Configurations, Component Steps are also considered. Note the Component Steps and sub-Steps displayed when filtered by the Configuration Rust Check.
