Defining PTC details

The PTC section in the Templates_Information_Editor__tab_icon.png Templates Information Editor allows you to define the PTC (Parts, Tools, and Consumables) needed for executing the Template.

Parts, Tools and Consumables
  • Parts Number - Configurator

    While executing the Task, the user can select the Parts Number Configurator and its corresponding active configurations only if you have added an item in the Parts Number – Configurator field. For more information refer to Setting up Configurations.

    Parts Number -Configurator will only appear at the Template Level PTC. It is not available at the Step level.

  • Parts - Components - Bill of Material

    The list of all the resources required to perform a Maintenance Procedure.

  • Tools

    The tools required to perform a Maintenance Procedure.

  • Consumables

    Consumables are the refillable resources that are required to perform to perform a Maintenance Procedure.

    Check the PTC inherited option to enable PTC inheritance.

You can select these items from the list defined in the object model. The data in the object model is obtained from the Manuals.

If the Template contains Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) content - Task(s) or Subtask(s), the fields in the PTC (Parts, Tools, and Consumables) section are automatically populated.

To define Parts, Tools, and Consumables in the Template:

  1. Select a Template from the Library pane, and go to Template Information Editor as shown.

  2. Scroll down the page to expand PTC section.

    The PTC section opens as shown below.

  3. Click PTC_Plus.png as shown below to add details.

    A dialog box opens to add the details.

  4. Click the plus icon __ICON.jpg under the Quantity field.

    The quantity of the Component is incremented.

    Note

    Components can be filtered using the filters as shown.

  5. Click  Confirm.

    The selected Parts and Components are displayed in the PTC section.

    Note

    When you hover the mouse over the OEM tag, Source: OEM will be displayed, implying that these Parts were populated from the OEM manual.

    PTC details can be modified using the following options:

    Increment the quantity

    Enter Unit

    Enter Status field

    View Catalog Sequence Number(CSN)

    To copy PTC details, click PTC_Object_data_icon.png

    To display parts in the EIPC(Engine Illustrated Parts Catalog), click Eye_icon.png

    To remove PTC from the Template, click Remove_Ptc_icon.png

    To add a Custom name and Description, click show_more_ptc_icon.jpg. This is a toggle button.

    Enter the Custom name and Description in the box as shown.

    The custom name is displayed as shown.

    This appears when the Show more button is not toggled.

  6. Click Save.

    You have successfully added PTC details to the Template.

    Important

    Once the PTC details are added to the Template level, they are added to the Step Level.

To define Parts, Tools and Consumables in the Steps:

  1. In the Property Pane, go to Step Information Editor.

  2. Select a Step and go to the PTC section.

  3. Click the __ICON.jpg either in Parts- Components - Bill of Material, Tools, Consumables based on the requirement.

    The PTC details added at the Template level are visible as shown below. The Quantity, Unit and Status can be edited at the Step level for these details.

    Important

    PTC details added to a Step can be accessed at the Template level using the PTC inherited option in the Template. For more information please refer to Inheriting PTC details.

  4. Increase the Quantity to add the PTC detail to the Step. Unit and Status are optional fields.

    The PTC details are added to the Step.

    Note

    The Quantity mentioned in the Step level cannot exceed the quantity mentioned in the template level.

    An error message is displayed while saving if the quantity entered at the Step is more than the Template.

  5. Click Save.

Using Filters in PTC Display

Filters can be used to find PTC at the Template Level/ Step Level when the volume of data is large.

The screenshot below shows the Template and Step Level PTC details.

PTC details can be filtered based on the Quantity. Comparison operators greater than ( > )and less than ( < ) can be used to build the filter criteria.

In the below example, the Template has PTC details with different quantities.

Note

At Step Level PTC, details with quantity = 0 are hidden by default.

Use drag and drop, to Add a PTC detail from Template Level to Step Level.

The drag and drop will increment the PTC detail in the Step Level by 1.

To move larger quantities, use Drag and Drop + Ctrl to move the PTC details from the Template Level to the Step Level.
