Adding Template Details
The Template details can be added to the Template Details section of the
Templates Information Editor.
To add Template Details:
In the
Templates Information Editor, expand the section Template Details.
The respective fields are displayed.

Add details in the fields as needed.
Field
Description
Template Cover
Choose a thumbnail for the Template. The system automatically resizes the selected image.
Refer Setting a Template cover for details.
Template Status
Select the required checkbox.

Component —Check the Component option if the Template is to be embedded as a Component in another Template. If unchecked, the Template cannot be used as a Component.
Runnable — Check the Runnable option to generate Tasks from this Template. If unchecked, Tasks cannot be generated from this Template.
Note
A Template that is only intended to be used as a Component, will have the Component option checked and Runnable unchecked.
This means that it will never be executed independently.
Regenerable — Check the Regenerable option to enable the Template for auto-regeneration when impacted by Screening. If unchecked, the impacted Template is not auto-regenerated.
Even when the Regenerable option is unchecked, if the Template regeneration behavior is set to Regenerate all templates in the Enterprise Settings, the impacted Templates are auto-regenerated.
Template Title
Enter the name of the Template.
The Template Title must not be empty. The value has a maximum limit of 1024 characters. If these conditions are not met, an error is displayed.
External Template ID
An ID that is set by the user, to identify the Template outside FieldLogs.
The Template ID must not be empty. The value has a maximum limit of 128 characters. If these conditions are not met, an error is displayed.
If you enter an External ID that is already in use, the system displays a warning listing all Templates with the same External ID.
This does not block publishing, it simply helps identify potential duplicates.


Functional Types
Adds a sticker/label on the Template for easy identification.
Select the required Functional Type from the dropdown list.

You can also create Functional Types and then associate them.
Note
The Functional Type, Suite & Package and Part Category are used to group the Templates under the Library panel.
Template Suite & Package
Suites are categories in the Templates list.
Select the required Suite from the dropdown list.

To add a new Suite:
From the dropdown list, select
New suite. The New suite dialog box is displayed.
Enter the Suite name and click . The new Suite is added.

Packages are sub-categories of Suites in the Templates list.
Select the required Package from the dropdown list.

To add a new Package:
From the dropdown list, select
New package.
The New package dialog box is displayed.
Enter the Package name and click . The new Package is added.

Suite/Package : Suite or Package has a maximum limit of 48 characters and cannot include invalid characters(special characters). If these conditions are not met, an error is displayed.
Part Category
Select the required Part Category from the dropdown list. Part Category is used to categorize Templates.

To add a new Part Category:
From the dropdown list, select
New. The New dialog box is displayed.
Enter the Part Category and click . The new Part Category is added.

Note
On creating a Part Category, click
to add sub-part category or a part module.
The Part Category must be within 512 characters and contain only valid characters. If these conditions are not met, an error is displayed.
Template Description
Enter a description for the Template. Keep it under 5000 characters. If these conditions are not met, an error is displayed.
The details are Auto Saved.

Every field is validated when the values are entered. If these conditions are not met, an error is displayed.

All the validation errors are displayed in a message box when the Template is saved.
