Performing Step actions
While editing a Template, the following actions can be performed on the Steps.
Delete,
Copy,
Copy to,
Cut,
Move to,
Clone,
Paste.

For information on the Create Template Feedback Step action, see Submitting a Template Feedback as a Template Author.
Delete action deletes the Step of the Template.
Click Delete.

A Delete Step confirmation dialog box opens. Click to confirm.

The selected Step is deleted.
Copy to action enables you to copy the Step to a specific position within the same Template.
Note
The Copy to action is different from the Copy action. In the Copy to action, you need not perform the Paste action. Instead, a dialog box opens for you to select the exact instance the Step should be copied.
Click Copy to.

A Copy to dialog box opens.

From the dropdown select the destination Step.
Select any one of the options Before/After/As child to specify the exact position within the Template.

The Step is copied to the specific position. Click

Note
Copying a Parent Step will copy the child Step(s) as well.
Cut action discards any Step(s) from an instance of the Template.
Click Cut.

The Step is cut from one position of the Template and can be pasted at a different position of the Template.
Click Paste.

In the example shown, Step 3.2 was cut and pasted as the child of Step 4.

Move to action moves the Step from one position to another within the Template.
Click Move to.

A Move to dialog box opens.

From the dropdown select the destination Step, and select any one of the options Before/After/As child.

.In the example shown below, the child of Step 4 is moved to a child of Step 5.

Click Save to confirm the Move.

Important
A Container Step cannot be made a child Step of any other Step in the Template.
A warning message alerts the user as shown below.
In the example shown below, the User is trying to move a Container Step as a child of another Step.

Clone action duplicates a Step.
Click Clone.

The cloned Step along with the child Step(s) is created as the next sequential Step.

Paste action pastes the Step that is either Copied or Cut.
After clicking Paste action, a Step actions dialog box opens. You can select one of the following options:

Paste before - paste the copied Step before the target Step,
Paste after - paste the copied Step after the target Step,
Paste as first child - paste the copied Step as the first child of the target Step,
Paste as last child - paste the copied Step as the last child of the target Step.
Important
A Container Step cannot be pasted as a child Step of any other Container/Input Steps. The option to be pasted as a child will not be enabled.
A Container Step is copied in the example shown below.

The Paste child option is not enabled in any of the Container/Input Steps.
