What is the role of a field employee?
The function of the field employee consists in performing the tasks that are assigned by the planner.
As a field employee you can pick up a task, run it, reassign it to another member, and complete or seal it. Most of your activity takes place on the application, with the
as your starting point, but you may perform some actions on the web too.Key concepts
Job: Collection of all the actions and data collected during the execution of a task, by one or several members.
Member: User of FieldLogs.
Task: Work instruction associated to a template and assigned to one or more members.
Task queue: Logical member-based groups in which members can pick up and/or assign tasks.
Template: Set of instructions and/or questions, structured in steps, that the member must perform/answer, depending on the design.
Scenario
You are currently working on a maintenance project. When you log in on your tablet, you select the project Vehicles MRO N°17.

In the
, you see a new task. This task informs you that you need to perform a procedure and which steps you have to follow. You run the task.As you start the job, you are asked to enter your PIN. The PIN is here to make sure that it is really you who is running the task. This PIN is asked at regular intervals during the job execution.

As you enter your answers, some steps are unlocked. You are regularly asked your PIN as you run the task. At some point, you consider that a specialist of your team must answer the next steps. So you reassign the task to this member.

You go back to the
to see if another task is waiting for your attention. You discover that there is a task assigned to one of your task queues. One of your team members can work on the task, so you pick it up and reassign the task.You select the No Project mode to see if you have other tasks requiring your attention. Another task is available in the . You work on it and complete it. To share the results with your manager, you save it as a pdf.
