Inheriting PTC details
The PTC Inheritance automatically reflects PTC details from the Step level to the Template level.
With PTC inheritance, a comprehensive list of all the PTC details present throughout the Template can be viewed at the Template level.
There are three cases of PTC details being inherited.
Note
The PTC information Quantity, Unit, and Custom Name from the Step are inherited by the Template.

Check the PTC inherited field 
in the Template Editor as shown below to enable PTC Inheritance in the Template level.

PTC details of a Step will be inherited by the Template.
In the example shown below, PTC details are added to Step 1.
The PTC details from the Step are inherited by the Template as shown below. The PTC details are not editable at the Template level.
PTC details of child Step(s) will be inherited by the parent Step.
The following screenshots will show how the PTC details of all the child steps are inherited by the parent Step.
The PTC detail of Step 3.1 is highlighted below.
The PTC detail of Step 3.2 is highlighted below.
The PTC detail of Step 3.3 is highlighted below.
The PTC details from the child Steps are inherited by the parent Step as shown below.
Note
The PTC details of a child Step can be inherited by all higher-level Steps.
In the example below, PTC details are added to the child Step 5.1.1.1.1.
These details are inherited by all the higher-level Steps (Step 5.1.1.1, Step 5.1.1, Step 5.1 and Step 5).
The PTC details of a Component are inherited by the Template that contains it as a Component Step.
In the example below, the PTC details of a Component Step are highlighted in the Step Information Editor.
The PTC details from the Component Step are inherited by the Template as shown below. The PTC details are not editable at the Template level.
The PTC details of a Module from a Module Library are inherited by the Template that contains it as a Module Step.
In the example below, the PTC details of a Module from a Module Library are highlighted in the Step Information Editor.
The PTC details from the Module Step are inherited by the Template as shown below. The PTC details are not editable at the Template level.
