Updating a Template from a Hit
Templates generated from a Reference Manual may need to be updated when a new version of the Reference Manual is released.
FieldLogs performs a process called Screening that compares the new version of the Reference Manual with the old Active version and highlights all the changes. This is referred to as the .
A change detected by the Screening process is called a Hit.
If a Template has been impacted by a Hit, it needs to be updated. Let us suppose that a Template has been originally generated from a Task A in the earlier version of the Reference Manual. The new version of the Reference Manual has a change in Task A. So, the Template generated from Task A is impacted. It needs to be updated from the Hit.
The following steps need to be completed in the Enterprise section before a Template can be updated:
The updated version of the Reference Manual must be uploaded and submitted to the Screening process.
The Screening process highlights any Templates that are being impacted by the new version of the Reference Manual.
Select the impacted Template to be updated and initiate a new version of the Template.

The Template is now available to the Template Author to make any modifications.
The pre-requisites detailed above need to be completed before a Template can be updated by the Template Author.
To update the Template identified by a Hit:
On the main menu, go to

page as shown.Click Pick up.
The Hits identified by the Screening process appear in the property pane.
Click Initiate.
In the Match Impact, select the Task reference.
The list of
available appear.Note
In the Match Impact section, click
to see the content of the Manual.The Content Window appears as shown below.
The user can perform the following actions from a Match Impact:
1. Search for Selection (described in Step 5 below)
2. Use as Step Title.
3. Add Picture to Step.
4. Update Step Effectivity.
5. Update File References.
6. Add File to Step.

From the list of actions available, click
.The
tab of the Property Pane opens with the list of steps that match the selected reference as seen below.The Template Author can edit the Step by clicking the Step Editor icon as shown.
Step information can be edited.
Click
to save the Template.Repeat Steps 4, 5 and 6 for each Match Impact.
Click Submit for Review when the Template is ready to be submitted to the Enterprise.
The Template can now be published.
