Defining A Custom Operation Plan

You can use a Custom Operation Plan immediately after the definition. You need not instantiate or activate a Custom Operation Plan.

Custom Operation Plan requires the user to manually perform the required action, like printing a set of reports when required.

To define a Custom Operation Plan:

  1. On the main menu, go to Planning > Operation Plan > Operation Plan Definition.

    The Operation Plan Definition page appears.

  2. In the Operation Plan Definition page, click Create new Operation Plan.

    A new Operation Plan Definition is added to the list of existing Operation Plan Definitions.

  3. From the options available in the Add a Counter dropdown list, click Create Custom Counter.

    A Custom Counter is created in the Operation Plan as shown below. Note that the Custom Counter does not have a Trigger tab.

Note

Adding a Custom Counter makes this Operation Plan a Custom Operation Plan.

There are two tabs to configure the Custom Operation Plan. They are:

  1. General Settings

  2. Variables

You can customize the name of the Operation Plan in this section. Edit the placeholder text Operation Plan Name to enter an appropriate name for your Operation Plan.

The following fields can be configured:

  • Name: Name of the Custom Operation Plan.

  • Description: Purpose of the Custom Operation Plan.

  • Time Zone: Sets the Time Zone for the Operation Plan.

    Note

    The Time Zone is used in the execution of time-based Triggers. This is not relevant to the Custom Operation Plan.

A sample Custom Operation Plan with its fields set is shown below.

You can define variables shared by all Counters within a Custom Operation Plan in the Variables tab.

To create a Variable in a Custom Operation Plan:

  1. Click New Variable in the Variables tab.

    A section appears with options to create a variable.

  2. Enter the various fields as shown below. Click Save.

    A variable has been added to the Custom Operation Plan. This variable is available to all the Counters in the Custom Operation Plan.

In the General Settings tab, there are six actions available as shown below.

The actions available to the planner are as follows:

Action

Description

1. Add Counter

This action is not relevant to a Custom Operation Plan.

Important

Trigger-based Counters will not be used in Custom Operation Plans.

2. Add Counter from Favourites

Adds a Counter that has been marked as a Favorite.

3. Execution Preview

Previews the execution of the Operation Plan.

4. Create Custom Counter

Adds a non-Trigger based Custom Counter to the Custom Operation Plan.

The Custom Counter that just encapsulates the Action. There is no Trigger. To know more, click here.

5. Report

Generates reports pertaining to the Custom Operation Plan. This is discussed in detail here.

Note

This function is used extensively in the Custom Operation Plan.

6. Mass Print

Generates reports pertaining to all Templates in the Action of the Custom Operation Plan. This is discussed in detail here.
